What is Founders Blend?
One Wednesday morning a month, a unique community of startup founders, business owners, investors, and those interested in supporting local businesses come together over free cups of coffee to celebrate new companies and support each other with the wisdom gained through similar experiences.
Local business owners are the best people to understand and give advice on the unique challenges facing entrepreneurs in Midland. It can be lonely navigating running your own business, Founders Blend is a way for entrepreneurs to find fellowship.
Who’s behind Founders Blend?
The organization’s blended together by the Midland Development Corporation, Second Story Coworking, UT Permian Basin, the Midland Chamber of Commerce, BAM Consulting, and Midland College.
When is it?
Founders Blend meets one Wednesday a month from 8 am to 9 am at various locations in Midland, Texas. Doors open at 7:30 am. Arriving early gives you a chance to grab your coffee, sign in, and say hello to some new faces. Starting at 8 am, our presenters will begin. You should be on the road, back to your office at 9 am.
Where is Founders Blend?
Founders Blend will be held at different locations around Midland. We often use the spaces that our community partners have for our meetings such as Second Story Coworking, Midland College’s Cogdell Learning Center, UTPB’s CEED Building, and BAM Entrepreneurial Center. Where can I park at Second Story?
Public parking is available in the parking garage just east of the DoubleTree Hotel. There are 200 free public parking spaces on levels 3, 4, and 5. It's about a 2-4 minute walk from the parking garage to Second Story Coworking.
Is Founders Blend free to attend?
Yes! Founders Blend is free and open to the public. Thanks to our community volunteers and donors, Founders Blend is a free way to caffeinate the minds and bodies of our local entrepreneurs.
What can I expect?
Doors open at 7:30 am and you’re invited to come early to meet other people, ask questions, or just get a cup of coffee. We’ll get started at 8 am with 2 presenters with 6-minute presentations. There will be Q&A sessions after each presentation where the Founders Blend community is welcome to give feedback and make connections. You should be on your way to your office at 9 am.
How can I get involved?
The best way to get involved is to come to the monthly meetings. You can also opt to present, volunteer, or donate.
How often should I attend?
To get the most out of Founders Blend, it is recommended that you commit to attending consecutively. We program our meetings for a convenient time first thing in the morning so you don’t need to take off work. But if you have an especially busy Wednesday morning, all of the Founders Blend meetings will be streamed live on Facebook and can be found on our YouTube channel.
